Hornblower Cruise to the Base of the Falls

attraction – Hornblower Niagara Cruises. The Voyage to the Falls Boat Tour brings guests on the journey of a lifetime.

Enjoy stunning views of the Niagara Gorge, American, and Bridal Veil Falls, and come face-to-face with the famous Canadian Horseshoe Falls. Feel the thundering roar, awesome power, and amazing mist that come along with these natural wonders or, ride after sunset for a light-mist experience with the illumination of the Falls.

The Hornblower Cruise is no longer part of the Adventure Pass.  Tickets for the cruise may be purchased at the visitors center. 

 

 

Niagara Visitors Center

The Visitors Center is the starting point to get to every attraction at Niagara Falls. It is the hub for the WEGO bus routes and hosts several restaurants and fast food opportunities.

The Inline Rail is just across the street and provides a great photo oportunity and an easy way to get up the hill on the way back to the hotel. (This picture was taken from the top of the Inline rail.)

The Adventure Pass gives you 2 days of WEGO transportation and the inline rail.

 

Whirlpool Aero Car

The Whirlpool Aero car was designed by a Spanish engineer, Leonardo Torres Quevedo and has been in operation since 1916. The cable car is suspended from six sturdy cables and offers a wonderful view of the Niagara Whirlpool which is formed at the end of the rapids where the gorge turns abruptly counterclockwise and the river escapes through the narrowest channel in the gorge.

 Suspended high over the Niagara River, the Whirlpool Aero Car passes directly over Niagara Whirlpool—a swirling, whitewater vortex created by conflicting currents. The antique cable car has been on the go since 1916, carrying passengers out to the bend of the river, where they dangle over and gawk at the dangerous whirling rapids below.

Tuesday

6:30 AM    Depart from SWBC parking lot

10:32 AM    Depart DFW and travel to Chicago for connection to Buffalo.
4:20 PM    Arrive Buffalo and transfer to Holiday Inn at the Falls (905-356-1333)
                On your own for supper.
9:00 PM    Meeting in the hotel lobby for information about Wednesday

Wednesday

Everyone will recieve an "Adventure Plus Pass." This gives you access to all the activities any time for the two days we are in Niagara Falls. Our group will be assigned a suggested schedule. Howerer, we can change it any time we want.
Wednesday Schedule Includes:

  • Journey Behind the Falls
  • Whirlpool Aero Car

There is a fantastic fireworks display at the Falls on Wednesday evening after dark.  You can see the display from the hotel but the best view is from Queen Victoria Park.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Thursday

Today's activities include:

  • White Water Walk
  • Butterfly Conservatory
  • Power Station at Night

The afternoon is free. It's  a great time to take the shuttle to Niagara on the Lake.

We will travel back to Buffalo on Thursday night and take a hotel shuttle to the airport on Friday morning.

Friday

5:15 AM   Depart via airport shuttle for Buffalo Airport
6:45 AM   Return Flight to DFW

Since we are traveling to Canada a passport is required. The passport expiration date should be at least six months past the date of the trip.
A personal item is included with your air fare. However, luggege will need to be checked for our flights. The luggage fee is $35.00 and is not covered by your trip cost. It's only a 3 day trip, don't take a large suitecase! Remember, no liquids in carry-on over 3 oz, no knives or sharp objects.
